Christopher Ward (CW)

Has anyone had any experience with the brand Christopher Ward? Swiss made watches out of the UK. Just curious has they appear to have some nicely made watches at decent prices and getting good press on the micro brand circles. I see that they have won some awards. Let me know as I'm looking at the C1 Bel Canto.

Hi, welcome to TRF. Have you tried using the Search Engine?

Thx.

Christopher Ward (CW)

I like CW watches. Farer watches, too. I always link the two together. Both brands are British and make a lot of appealing models.

But I’m not feeding the habit right now…

His join date is 2009. And the search engine here leaves a lot to be desired.

The C1 reminds me of Ulysse Nardin style. I'm curious what people think about the brand.

CW is an easy brand to get smitten by; I've picked up about six or seven of them. They're rugged good looking work horses. They frequently use ETA movements. Some say they punch above their weight class. I think they're right where they should be. As far as the Bel is concerned. I own one and like it a lot.

I really like CW, even if I only currently own one. They used to be a really great value brand, but their prices have been quickly moving upwards in recent years. I love the Trident Pro 300 series. Terrific watches.

Well I am a fan. Some innovative new designs at a good price. I have the bel canto myself and am looking into the loco as well.

Yes, I have three JasH custom watches made by them.

Two of them are based on the Twelve, one is based on the Bel Canto. In my opinion, the latter is a masterpiece of watchmaking and for that price it is absolutely insanely good value for money for a sonnerie watch.

In recent years I have found that they use quality and robust movements, every watch feels solid and well built.

I also like their sales method. There are no huge ads, there are not too many boutiques, but they sell their watches online in a very authentic way: You pay what you see on the pages. NO hidden costs, NO VAT, NO TAX, because these prices are all included in the price.

Just a small note: I think CW is no longer a micro brand, but more of a small but emerging watch company.
