Neither of those reasons. I just didn’t want either of them and will leave them for the next person.

AD's are still contacting long-term customers trying to move product during the shutdown. That much is true, but AD's aren't just dumping everything out of the safe. What's certainly possible is people trying to cover margin calls, mortgages, etc. by selling assets and that's how a bunch of rare pieces magically showed up at AD's in the last couple weeks.

And people like me too, who have 'no' buying history at all.
I put myself on a list for an explorer about a year ago recently got a friendly call offering a few different watches, mostly datejust options.

On a similar note...I never bought an AP. I had inquired 3 months ago about a Titanium AP ROO. Sales rep just emailed me and said they have one if I want it. hmmm

No discount :( But tbh I didn't expect to get one in a first place.

I’d respond with...”if the price is right”

I got sea dweller red and sky dweller with white dial steel.

In the past with this AD I bought air king, sea dweller d blue, PM Daytona and datejust. I am also on a waiting list for meteorite GMT, hopefully that will be available as well.

Background: OP bought four Rolex watches from this AD, including a precious metal watch and a Daytona.
Current Situation: He was offered a Sea Dweller and a white dial steel Sky Dweller.
Conclusion: Nothing special to see here. A nice incoming, but not "shout from the mountain tops" level.

So, bringing this back to normal operating temperature........

OP, great pickup! Let's see some pictures! Congratulations!

I hope you sanitized the watches before bringing them into your home.
