I'd have a Day-Date, used. Status symbol and good value for money compared to new.

H. Moser Streamliner Purple Haze... but prepare to wait as Rolex makes more Subs in a day than H. Moser makes of these in a year.

I would sit on the money and enjoy the feeling that I can afford what I want when it makes itself known to me.

Yes like others mentioned, I would definitely wait to buy something that I really really loved if spending that. PP or AP SS at retail price are options if possible to get.

It all depends on two things;
what you already have, and what you really want, for me BLRO or a Submariner Hulk won't be a bad one.

My advise would be to select several models from Vacherone, Patek, AP and Rolex, express interest to AD and wait. While waiting, visit ADs, try watches, drink Champaign, have nice conversations. At the end, you will get a nice watch and tones of good experience and memories. You will also feel what exact models from these four brands give you the most excitement.

I've had some Rolex money burning a hole in my pocket for the last three years. I live 50 miles from the closest AD and none of the dealers I visited in Europe would sell one to me either. Unfortunately, I don't have $20K to buy a watch grey. I just read TRF threads and dream.
