I can’t buy second hand. My watches are the experiences I have with them. Dents, scratches etc.... it’s the history of it. Would feel weird inheriting those dents and scratches like you say.

In a typical watch market, it is always better to buy high end PM pieces used. Let someone else take the depreciation. It is the same with most high end cars.
Rolex SS at retail are a bargain if you can find them so it makes sense to buy them new from an AD. Buy Grey and you do not know who has worn the watch. |

Only Buy New
For years I was in the vintage Rolex market, but I got tired of constantly searching for repair parts, primarily NOS Tritium hands, bezel inserts, bracelets and other parts. The cost to find these parts, have them installed and pay for an overhaul just became too costly and time consuming. I love the vintage look, but not the hassle that comes along with it. The hours it took to find the right watch without the over polished case, or lug dings, or mismatched hands to the luminous hour markers or correct bracelets was just too much. About 5 years ago I just started only buying new from the Rolex Dealer at MSRP. I have to wait in line like everyone else, but the improvements Rolex has made to bracelets and bezels in the last few years make the waiting bearable.

Both. I go new when I can. If I buy pre-owned, I buy the seller (Trusted Sellers only) and then immediately have the watch serviced at RSC.
