I like to buy from an AD for peace of mind. On the other hand, I'm not adverse to buying used either privately or through a reputable GM dealer. Cheers!

Of course - but they negotiate. The prices listed are with much 'fudge room', as they say.

Bought my first Rolex watch from a grey dealer. Got 5% more off from the grey than the family's AD. Bought my next three Rolex watches from ADs since there weren't that much difference in price from what I negotiated from the AD compare to what was offered in the grey market. Of course, this was when the economy was still doing well and some of these were newer models. My last purchase was from GM dealer and I save a lot....more than what I could ever get from an AD even in today's market, even after doing business for 10 years. Most of them are only offering 25% off of high end models. It really depends which market you live in or buy from...here in Houston, we have not yet experience the type of recession some parts of the country are going through.
For me, it was all about who I can trust and hope much i can save. Really the balance of the two. I don't discriminate between different type of vendors, only accountability and price. I treat each transaction uniquely and my greatest friends are negotiation and price competition......period. For me, everything being equal, anything more than $100 conveniently swings me the other cheaper way. I save that for me and my wife to go out for dinner and celebrate our new purchase! |
