The middle one is black right? I love it that you got one of each color, sweet! Are you not going to open it, pure collection piece? Given that they are slightly different size and thickness, would love to hear your thought when/if you wear all three of them for some time.

Just buy a silver one and do a dial swap to blue.

Great eye, you nailed it. Middle 4500v is black, just haven’t had time yet to wear as it landed not long ago.

Definitely plan on opening it in the next couple weeks. Dial color aside, truth be told I may prefer the 7900v as a balance between complications, size, and just overall aesthetics. As my daughter says it’s the most interesting to look at.

Happy to report back on how they comparatively wear. Rubber seems to be my preferred goto of the strap options but the bracelet is the star of the show.

Beautiful collection of VCO! I recently acquired a RG Chrono 5500v and now waiting on a 4500v from my SA as a daily. How does your chrono compare to the 3 hand as far as the size? Any wrist shots?

I just received my first custom Delugs strap (Taupe). It fits just about as good as the VC straps and definitely enhances wearability b/c of the taper and the tang buckle option. Loving it...

Did you stick with their reduced height for 4500V? I was thinking I'd tell them 7900V because I didn't want a step down. Yours looks perfect.

I went with the recommended Lug Width of 23-18 for the 4500 model. Everything else I went with was default.

No sane people. I've owned the blue Overseas three-hander twice, one purchased NEW for $16900. It's a very nice watch, but this recent pricing is ludicrous and is clearly just part of the whole inflated luxury brand trend since the beginning of the pandemic, mostly fueled by dealers.

I still remember the first time I saw that stunning blue dial when it was newly released, and overall how impressed I was with the watch. The saleswoman at Wempe in NYC offered a discount that brought the price down to about $17500, but I didn't bite because I knew a gray dealer had a brand new one for less. I hesitated even at that because at the time many collectors stayed away from VC because they allegedly didn't hold their value.

Crazy how times have changed in a relatively short time span.

The actual value of a small amount of stamped and machined steel as well as a few grams of gold does not anywhere near equate to even $16900. These watches, as described by others, are borderline fine art. And at this point they can't be readily obtained and the demand is well above the supply curve. The market value here is really all the matters. Trying to make sense of it is a wasted effort. As long as the general population of luxury watch buyers feel confident that prices are steady and or won't fall dramatically, it is looking like they will happily pay 60k or above.

Absolutely agree. The market is the reality, inflated or not. However, as a watch lover, I'd never pay that much for that watch, as much as I like it. It's crazy. I'd much rather have a great vintage piece, and for much less.

I paid $24k for my 7900V in April 2021, Chrono is now suggesting double.

No matter the market value, i'll always retain it too I'm no longer breathing.

Appreciate the kind words, and an added perk of the VCO is that it flies relatively undercover for most of the general population. Recently went on the road to a few company events, and never heard a word about my 7900v, whether from a perspective client, colleagues, or stranger. Walk in an actual boutique of xyz brand, people always perk up and conversations tend to focus around our hobby.

In terms of how the chrono compares to the other 2 in terms of size, it wears large. I have somewhere between a 7 and 7 1/4" wrist and I feel its at the very edge of what I could pull off. Comfort-wise its much more comfortable than my DSSD, but I'd rank the 7900v as the most comfortable. Naturally YMMV on the wrist comfort, but having the rubber/leather strap option out the gate is one of the cool features of the current gen Overseas.

Personally I prefer the 4500v the most though the dual time and chrono are awesome "do everything" watches. The biggest difference isn't just the height/thickness of the case, but the steeper angles of the bezel on the taller models like the chrono, then dual time. Again, ymmv based on your wrist size and body size!

When did the VC Overseas get so nuts? One calendar year ago, there was virtually no hype for this watch. But an Overseas Blue dial for $60k? Years of wait?

I don't get it. This was supposed to be the poor man's Nautilus, or Royal Oak.

This didn't quite happen overnight. This time last year, the blue 4500 wait had already built up to almost a year, which is why they closed the official deposit list. I was originally told there was a chance it would open again once they fulfilled more orders, but demand grew and grew to the point that all colors were over a year wait and the lists for everything closed. Don't forgot, it is estimated that VC only makes a few hundred max of each dial color per year, globally. That is absolutely nothing... and significantly less than AP makes of the Royal Oak.

There are a lot more shocking things to me - like the fact that "mass" produced Rolex subs are going for >50%+ over and have become nearly unobtainable.

I've given up on trying to justify Rolex prices and unavailability. $40k for a light blue OP is ridiculous.

Not very nice perhaps, but your comment was pretty darn snarky as well. Coming into the VC thread and talking about poor mans watch. The retail price is basically in-line of this and the AP, what's so poor man about it?
