I can’t get over the fact that is just looks like it’s always upside down. Would be cool to get it but would NEVER wear it.

I am going to wear my LN upside down for a bit to see if it grows on me - bezel is a hit for me

I can't imagine buying it, I mean if I got the option to get one to sell maybe, but I wouldn't put my name down on it given the config.

I figure eventually they will release a standard one.

This is exactly the issue for me. I would have worn it if they didn't move the date. The Pelagos is a good example of LHD done right.

All the naysayers are nuts!

Rolex make one...ONE watch that is completely individual from the rest of the catalog and you're hating on it!?

This thing is fire! for the true GMT collector, which I attest to be, this thing is magic!

For the collector I agree. If I can land a BLRO I will put in for the VTNR just to have a complete collection.

While I'm not a fan I respect all those who love it. I'm sure there's plenty of people that look at my collection and not like it

I just dont do green in any capacity so even if a "righty" I'm out. As one member blasted me the other day thats just more to go around

So if I take it off to wind it, and when I wear it the crown is at the back of my hand, what exactly makes it "right-handed" (or in reverse "left-handed")? Sure, it would be upside down if I preferred to wind it with my other hand but...

In my mind, left-handed and right-handed in terms of watches is strange.

To answer the original question, I will probably get one because I rarely wind my watch and I'd like to see what having the crown away from my hand is like.
You use your dominant hand to wind and set the watch because you have finer control of your hand and fingers. That's why the crown is on the right. You should always wind and set it with it off your wrist IMHO.

The crown is at the back of your hand because you're wearing it too low. If you wear it above the wrist bone, it should never touch it, unless you wear it loose such that the watch is allowed to go past your wrist bone. But I guess that depends a lot on how you like to wear your watch and the geometry of your wrist.

I agree with you. If the date was on the right, it'll look better and I can still wear it on the left hand. But I assume Rolex's thinking is that they want the wearer to see the date when your shirt cuff is half covering the watch like it does sometimes. That'd be my guess. But yeah I think it's going to be very niche.

I just need a case that holds 8 watches now. But yeah I'm missing a 6452 Pussy Galore, I've been holding out for a fully original one with bakelite intact and papers which is impossible, and now the VTNR will slot nicely in after the BLRO Name: Screenshot_20220330-203704_Gallery.jpg

I will never be able to unsee that date window at the nine position. I could live with the crown on the left side, but that date window TOTALLY makes it look like the watch is being worn upside down.

Still in shock that Rolex actually did this.

The 15 new threads of more nicknames is just stupid. Since we are in the third grade though this watch is a complete miss. Ugly as hell.

Love the colour but like others don’t like the crown

I have a feeling people will take this apart and switch everything around as a normal gmt. I’m sure there’s some clever people to do it. Then I’d wear one :)

I’d argue the most unique watch Rolex makes is the YM2 with the Sky D just behind.

I kind of like the color but even if it was offered in conventional layout, I’d still prefer my BLRO.
As far as why, destro models certainly have their following. Panerai comes to mind as a brand that has always had them in their lineup.

I'm right handed and will definitely wear it. I have a pelagos LHD which I've enjoyed plenty. Many of us don't use/need a watch to tell the time and date now anyway, so the location of the date window isn't very bothersome for me.

If this is intended for people who wear their watch on the right hand then the date window is in the correct position IMO. A little pull of a shirt cuff will show the date.

The problem with the new GMT is the placement of the date window. Should have been at the 3 even though it makes it more difficult to see the date. Just looks odd.

I wear my watches on my right wrist. I'm right handed.

I don't care what side the crown is on but I don't particularly like the new VTNR bezel insert so it doesn't interest me. I'm sure they will sell tons of them. It's too different not to generate a lot of noise.
