Thanks for the good wishes Guys.
Jimmy 2, I'm not sure about all the factors surrounding a case like Stans but I get the impression that most guys probably see 'removal' as a 'last ditch' option. (due to the implications of this)
I am almost 73 and 'removal' is the final option as far as I am concerned. It wouldn't be welcome if I was 62.

I guess it’s a nasty operation with less favorable results?

I am always under the impression that you want to remove cancer from the body but I am not a doctor and if I have to go through prostrate cancer I will leave it up to my doctors to give me the best advice.

Got it. Very happy it all worked well for you.

I am afraid of all cancers and it’s not something I want to dwell on but even though my PSA is very low and I will have yearly exams there’s still no guarantee that I will not get it.
It’s so common in men.

Miss seeing him around as well. I know he would’ve enjoyed England’s run in the Euros

FWIW, a good friend of mine had his prostate surgically removed in his sixties and has had a leaking urine problem ever since (the surgery was ten years ago). He has to wear Depends 24/7. My decision to elect radiation was influenced by his experience and my oncologist's recommendation.

It's weird being the same age as old people.

Looks like you and your doctor made the correct decision. Happy for you.
Cheers to our future health.
