New to me 116509 blue dial!

Thanks to TRF on helping me choose this watch!

I had my eye on several daytonas over the last few years, and I ultimately decided on the blue dial - it's unique and striking.

In low light it definitely appears as a black dial; the blue really only comes through when it's well lit. Legibility is surprisingly good! I think because this dial variation doesn't have multicolored subdials, so the silver/white hands stand out very well.

While I do prefer the bracelet, I am trying it on a leather strap which I have to admit I am growing to like! Unfortunately I only had a 19mm strap of this type; I just ordered one in 20mm.

I think that's the nicest looking Rolex blue dial out there. Looks fantastic on the Daytona.

Congrats on the blue dial Daytona, such a stunning choice! The way it shifts from blue to black in different lighting is one of its most captivating features. Totally agree on the legibility too; the clean contrast really makes it easy to read at a glance.

As for the leather strap, that’s a great idea to switch it up! I’m sure the 20mm strap will make it look even better. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together!

I have this beauty as well, and it gets a lot of time in rotation. Very nice. Live long and prosper!
