I want to like it but it’s really expensive and I think the engraving could be a bit nicer, although I appreciate the hand touch.

Smaller than 40mm and manual movement? Have we gone back to the nineties?
I really quite like that, though I admit I wish the brown dial was a little more intricate.

Basically the same price as a Daytona on OysterFlex....Up to you whether a 250th anniversary Breguet is priced ok in comparison to a PM Daytona with rubber strap. |

It’s ok….
But for me breguet is the way to go when you’re looking for a dress watch or a complicated watch Although I do have a gold type XX…. For sport watches I would look at other brands

Breguet and JLC are two of my favourite brands but they don’t do sports watches as good as their other lines nor as good as other brands sports watches. Hard to pass over something like an overseas for this.

I’m not a fan of chopped up numerals. I forgive it on a navitimer but not a Breguet. The pushers and crown are bulky and ungainly, the bezel almost apologetically thin and the 6 and 9 markers look more like hieroglyphs. Not a design classic.

[QUOTE=Cru Jones;13724562]Congrats to Breguet! This third 250th anniversary release is
![]() ![]() ![]() Type XX Chronographe 2075 38.3 mm x 13.2 mm ![]() I want to take a slightly different perspective here. While I congratulate Breguet on its 250th anniversary, I can’t help but feel that the brand has deliberately overlooked its core enthusiasts — especially those of us who have followed and supported the Type XX lineage for years. Back in 2019 and 2021, Breguet released two “Only Watch” Type XXs that truly spoke to the community. They proved the maison still understood what collectors wanted: ![]() ![]() But then came the much-anticipated “modern” Type XX under CEO Lionel a Marca a few years later, and to me, it missed the mark entirely. Despite the hype, boutiques in NYC and LA had multiple pieces just sitting in stock, and the brand even had to push promotions through Hodinkee. When the CEO himself makes repeated media rounds, that looks less like a celebration and more like damage control: ![]() ![]() When CEO Gregory Kissling took over, I had hope things might shift. I was even told, “Get your money ready, they’re finally listening.” So I went to the 250th anniversary event in June. But instead of a long-awaited historical re-issue of the Type XX in steel, the focus was on a historical reissue in gold. Once again, it felt like a miss. I even voiced my disappointment directly to CEO Kissling, and his answer was simply: “Be patient.” My response: “Patient? At this rate, I’ll be dead before you give us what we actually want.” He just laughed! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For me, that sums it up. The true enthusiasts are the ones who know and live this brand. Yet time and again, Breguet seems to brush us aside in favor of safer, more commercial moves. At some point, patience starts to feel like neglect. |

Thanks for the post and thoughts. ![]() For me, I feel the 250th XXs are a step in the right direction after the “controversial” modern reissue. I also like these more than the two prior 250th releases. Yes, it’s not the archetypical Breguet if one were to get only one Breguet, but I would understand someone buying this instead of a similarly priced PM Daytona on Oysterflex. I’m curious what you think Breguet should have done better with these to speak to you. |

My own collection has a strong military theme — field, dive, and pilot’s watches. As you can see from the photo, pilot’s watches are a particular passion of mine (8 in this shot, 9 now): ![]() But what’s missing? Breguet. And that’s not by accident. This 2025 gold release was so close: ![]() — except they made it in gold. For me, that completely breaks the spirit of the Type XX. It’s a tool watch, not a dress watch. I wish I could understand. But for the life of me, I can’t see why Breguet’s management seems unwilling to truly respect their enthusiasts. I work in a data-driven profession, and I constantly advise clients that decisions are only as good as the data behind them. Which makes me wonder: what data is Breguet relying on? Do they even look at the right signals, or are they ignoring the very community that actually knows and loves these watches? Sure, maybe they’ll release a stainless steel version in the coming years. But if history is any guide, it’ll be priced outrageously, tweaked just enough to alienate us again, and miss the mark all over. Great question, and I really do appreciate you asking — it’s good to have this kind of discussion among enthusiasts. ![]() |

![]() As for the XX, I think it was probably "Mission: Impossible" for Breguet to correct the XX in SS so soon after its release for the 250th anniversary. Plus, for the 250th, a PM version does feel a bit more "special" (at least to me). At least it sounds like the new CEO is promising something down the road you might like. ![]() |
