Congrats, the Sub-C is a very nice watch. I'm still enjoying mine. I also agree that the AR on the date was a huge under look improvement.

EDIT :

I agree 1000000x... the more I look at my Sub. I honestly don't see the huge deal with the lug. I don't think its that square. Obv a bit bigger, but not as squarish as some pics indicated.

Congrats and looks great! Just an opinion.. try wearing it a little further back on your arm just behind the ball on your wrist.

Enjoy!

I've always found this to be uncomfortable, and I've worn a watch daily since I was four years old. Keeping my watch in that position requires the bracelet to be much to tight for me to be comfortable. I like it just tight enough so it's not flopping around loosely like a bracelet (I hate that look). If I'm typing on the computer, like right now, it will slide into the position that you describe. If I stand up and walk around, it will have enough room to slide down past the head of the ulna, which I find very comfortable.

Yep...that's how I feel. I have never used the word feminine (for fear of the girlie backlash on TRF ); I just think the larger lugs give the SubC a more sporty, less dressy, look (something I think is a big improvement in a dive watch).

I hear ya on your Omega-to-Rolex experience. I, like you, am an Omega owner & fan and my first 'real watch' purchase was my SMP Chrono 10+ years ago. I think anyone that experienced Omega (and their top notch bracelets/clasps) prior to Rolex always have the same reaction we did - e.g. 'Are you kidding me with the Sub clasp?!?!'

The one thing I will say though is how I wish Omega would design a safety latch like Rolex. I am really rough on my watches and after about 3 yrs of ownership & constant wear of my SMP, I could get the clasp to pop open during rigorous activity. That's something that would NEVER happen w/ a Sub...regardless of how flimsy the grade of metal used may be.

That's funny Matt because I had my heart and soul set on a 16610 because my wrist are also skinny and when I went to my ad they did not have a 116610 to try on but did have the sub no date and after putting it on I was also turned off by the bracelet and then tried on the gmt c and right there I said I need to get the 116610 .. Suck because I have enough to get a sub 16610 I have been saving for a year but now I need to save for a few more month for the extra $$ for the 116610 but I know it will be worth it in the end!!

You will not regret going the extra mile for a 116610. It is a completely different watch. I absolutely love it. Stay away from the dealer and go to the For Sale section here if price is a concern. I saved nearly $2k over what I would have paid at a local AD with no discount and tax added.
