Rolex already has a perfect "half way" metal between SS and gold/Pt: it's TT :)

It's not a dollar value thing; silver tarnishes too easily, and on some people (me being one) it turns green!

SS, gold and platinum are all much more resistant to this kind of reaction so they look good without needing to be polished like tableware...

In general silver jewellery is not that much valued. (You very seldom see expensive gem stones on a silver rings for instance.)

Gold and platinum is used for high status items and and stainless steel for less expensive "fashion" items.

Rolex is a luxury item and as such does not fit in the more "cheap" category where silver is used. I think the market for a silver Rolex would be very slim.
