Blue 116618 for me no questions. Good luck with your decision. hoping you will not take a huge hit on the Daytona

The Daytona is gorgeous, but it's a smaller watch and if that's going to bother you, then it ain't getting' any bigger. When it comes to gold, the GMT IIc with green face is the one for me... there's nothing else out there like it and the green says Rolex all the way. The blue face Sub is a favorite of mine, but I actually like it better in two-tone (of course, I'm biased because I own one). That's my two cents since you asked!

For me I was lucky enough to get both...
I bought the Daytona as a dress watch knowing it was thinner than the other sports watches, hence I got it on a strap. Also the dial was magnifisent. I had the SS version of the GMT, so I knew the wrist presence and fit would be perfect...IMO this is the most comfortable sports model rolex makes. If you think you'll miss the Daytona then don't sell it. Saying that, the GMT is a perfect alternative though.y

Thoughts:
The dial combo you have is my absolute favorite gold Daytona...wow...it is one good looking watch...that said, if it's not speaking to you, much less singing, it's probably time to look elsewhere. Any rumors you are hearing of a Daytona II or going to 42mm are just that, rumors. No one who would actually know this information would most certainly not be talking about it. If, and I stress the word if, a new model were unveiled at this year's Basel, it will be a while before we see it in stores...and odds are it will be prohibitively expensive. Women wearing the Daytona bother you? That's not really rational, but again, it's your wrist... The YG GMT and the sub are amazing pieces...I think they are "sportier" than the Daytona, so if that's what you're going for...OK. To me, the Daytona tends to look a little more formal (or maybe elegant is a better word?) As far as wearing larger...yeah, maybe...but we are only talking about 1mm or so difference-along with the sub/GMT super case of course...perhaps it's more in the mind? If I had to pick between the sub and GMT, it would be the GMT, but that's just me, I'm a huge GMT IIc fan. Comfortable, versatile, good looking, what more could you ask for? Good luck with your decision. |

You need a Yellow Gold Deep Sea Sea Dweller with Platinum Original Gas Escape Valve and Ring Lock System...Look out for the next Basel 2015 release. Meanwhile, you YG Daytona looks really good on your wrist. You probably will have more compliment and attention from beautiful (and rich) women along the way on top of your usual male friends.

You may also want to think about the source of why it bothers you that some women wear the same watch. Is it that others might think you're wearing a women's watch? Is it that you prefer a very masculine watch and if women wear it that decreases the masculinity? And why do you feel that way?
Many things we own are worn by both women and men. Which gender likes and uses something doesn't necessarily make it more or less masculine, and hopefully you'll get to a point where that doesn't matter anyway. I live in Sweden and people really don't care about these things, which makes me care even less than I did before when I was still in the States, which was already quite little impaired to many people around me. Life does get easier! :) To answer your question though my personal preference in your case is for the sub, partly because I'm not a huge Daytona fan. I fell in love with the Speedy Pro and feel like it's the most beautiful and perfectly made chrono out there. But the sub to me is the most beautiful and perfectly made diving watch. Good luck on your choice! If it makes you happy then you've chosen wisely! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks to all who posted. I decided to keep the Daytona. I will however be saving for my next gold watch either a Green GMT or Blue Submariner. I think those two will be difficult to choose from.
