If you could only get one it has to be the original SS Sub. A true classic and it will never go out of style.

This is always one of those questions that invokes strong emotions on both sides.

For me it's all about readability in less than ideal conditions and the LV wins out.

I never really cared if my watch "goes with everything", but if so add a black insert to the LV--looks pretty cool.

At the end of the day it's which speaks to you more.

When I first got my LV, my AD and Rolex led me to believe it was a special issue watch of limited supply....and that it was not going to be in the regular production after its 50th year in 2004.
So now when I put it on, I always have a little sour taste.
As others have stated, the green bezel is a little unique and funky and if I was to do it again, I'd have gotten a SD.

Get the LV since it will be discontinued next year with the coming of the ceramic bezel sub changes. You will always be able to find an "ordinary" black bezel sub date.

The black sub date is the only one I liked enough to buy.

While the LV is cool, love the maxi dial and the green it's kind of a one off. I am a WIS amd wrist looker DELUXE. I have never seen a LV on a wrist ever and I have spotted 1000's of Rolex's. Just this week end near my home in FtWorth, TX our downtwon had a arts festival, it draws a couple of hundred thousand. I saw, Milgauss, 16610's (this guys was a beater too, dirty drystal and scratched bracelet), tons of Dates, TT dates, even a mens medium dat, a few Daytona's (all gold and SS/BlackDial) and very 16613's but NO LV's.

I contemplated this myself but bought a 16610 Submariner. It is just instantly recognized, elegant, sporty and u can wear it with shorts and t shirt of a tux.

This morning I wound, set, and then strapped my trusty N series (tritium indices) 16610 on my wrist, after a long hiatus, and it's been a fruitful reunion.

I'm wondering why I waited so long to wear it again.
