Disappointed with Rolex UK service
Hi All
I posted about this is the general forum, but no one has responded. I sent my 22 year old Oyster date model 15200 in to Rolex UK for a regular service via my Rolex dealer. I had to wait nearly three months for the watch to come back as Rolex were very busy. A short while after it came back it suddenly started looking 15 seconds per day. I took it back to the Rolex dealer for return under the repair warranty. It went away to Rolex service for another three weeks, on return the regulation was almost perfect, however six weeks later it’s loosing 15 seconds a day again. So it’s going to have to go back to the dealer for return under the service warranty yet again. Am I right in thinking there is something else wrong that is causing the regulation to suddenly run at minus 15 seconds per day? I’m considering selling the watch and moving away from Rolex when it comes back, as Don’t want to having issues like this and long waiting times for service in the future. With the high cost of a Rolex factory service I expect a lot better. |

Very strange to lose exactly 15 seconds on both occasions.

Possibly a daft idea but please check your watch for magnetism.
Use a compass or if you have an iphone there are several apps thet will test for magnetism. Dont forget that the natural Earth magnetism is around 50 which is fine. Do you have an induction hob in your kitchen ? they are well known for "messing up" a watch movement.

Magnetism almost always leads to a watch running fast, not slow. But never a bad thing to rule out.

I found a local watchmaker who very kindly offered to check it for me on a timegrapher while I waited, he found it was running minus 12 seconds and adjusted it to between 0 to +3 for me. |

Did you get a printout of the 5 positions after he regulated the watch.
It would be interesting to see how it is behaving in all 5 positions. the Amplitude, B.E and rates are all going to be important to you.
